乜嘢係 B1 英文測試？

B1 英文測試係一種 Secure English Language Test（SELT，安全英語語言測試），好多英國簽證申請都要考。
B1 代表你嘅英文水平，根據歐洲共同語言參考框架（CEFR）定義。CEFR 指南話，B1 英文水平嘅人可以：

• 聽得明關於工作、學校同休閒活動嘅對話

• 處理大部分旅遊情況

• 寫簡單嘅文章，講自己有興趣嘅主題

• 清楚描述自己嘅經歷、事件、夢想、志向同意見

Trinity College London 提供兩種 SELT 測試：GESE（英語口語分級考試）同 ISE（綜合英語技能考試）。

B1 英文測試有咩用途？

B1 英文測試用嚟評估一個人嘅英文水平。唔同移民途徑對英文要求唔同，申請簽證時要交英文測試成績。想知自己要考咩級數，最好去查下英國政府網站 。

你如果申請以下簽證，都要通過 B1 英文測試：

點樣準備 B1 英文測試？

B1 GESE 第五級係一對一嘅會話同聆聽測試。考試可以同 Trinity 考官用視像會議進行。如果你選擇去 Trinity SELT 中心考，會用 Trinity 嘅平板電腦，由工作人員幫你安排。

考試全程10分鐘，分兩部分：

1. 主題討論

   • 你要預先揀一個主題，考試時同考官傾。

   • 要預先填好 Topic Form（主題表格），帶去考場。

   • 呢度有已填妥之 Topic Form 可以參考。

2. 會話

   • 考官會揀兩個題目，跟你做簡短對話。

Trinity 有唔同嘅備考資料幫你準備 B1 GESE 第五級考試。

B1 English test (GESE Grade 5)

The Trinity B1 GESE Grade 5 exam is a 10 minute speaking and listening test that can be taken at an approved Trinity SELT centre. The test is used to prove your level of English proficiency and is required when applying for:

• Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)

• Settlement/Permanent Residency

• British Citizenship (Naturalisation)

What is a B1 English test?

A B1 English test is a type of Secure English Language Test (SELT) that is needed for a number of UK visa applications. 

The B1 part refers to the level of English you have, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The CEFR guidelines say that someone at the B1 level in English can:

• Understand conversations about work, school and leisure-related topics

• Deal with most travelling situations

• Write simple text about topics of interest to them

• Describe their experiences, events, dreams, ambitions and opinions clearly

With a SELT test, there are two types offered by Trinity College London; GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) and ISE (Integrated Skills in English).

What are B1 English tests used for?

B1 English tests are used to assess the level of English proficiency a person has. The level of English language ability needed for a Visa application can vary depending on the immigration route. English language test results are needed for the application process for a number of Visas so to find out which level you need it's best to check the UK Government website.      

You will have to pass a B1 English language test if you are applying for:

• Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) 

• Settlement/Permanent Residency

• British Citizenship (Naturalisation) 

How can I prepare for a B1 English test?

The B1 GESE grade 5 is a one-to-one speaking and listening test. These are delivered with Trinity examiners remotely via video conference. If you choose to take your exam in a Trinity SELT centre it will take place on a Trinity tablet device which will be set up by your personal steward.

The exam is 10 minutes long and is split into two parts:

1. Topic

• You will choose a topic to prepare in advance of the test, for discussion with the examiner.

• You must complete a Topic Form in advance and bring it with you to the exam.

• Here is an example of a completed Topic Form.

2. Conversation

• You will have a short conversation with the examiner about two subject areas chosen by the examiner.

• To help you prepare for your B1 GESE Grade 5 Trinity has a variety of preparation materials for you to choose from.

Trafford Hongkongers CIC has now registered as one of the approved service providers of. We will be offering self-financed support services for people preparing for the B1 English test (GESE Grade 5). Hence, we can provide you with the following two kinds of assistance:

• If you register for a Trinity College London exam via the link on our website, we can assist in requesting a change of exam date with Trinity College London. Please note that we only have two quota places per month for this service. We kindly ask that this facility is not misused and appreciate your understanding.

• We also offer paid online support services for those preparing for the exam to help candidates better prepare for the B1 English test (GESE Grade 5) with assistance from an English tutor with the qualification of CertTESOL. The minimum class size is 5 people and the maximum is 10 people. Each session lasts 1 hours and 30 minutes. The price schedule of a session is provide below. Please email to us for details.
