Overview:

Trafford Hongkongers CIC are glad to be awarded a funding from North West Regional Strategic Migration Partnership (RSMP) and another one from Inclusive Neighbourhoods Grants 2021/22 of Trafford Council. We are now recruiting several part-time and voluntary positions to support our projects to deliver our services to Trafford residents of ALL heritages. Let's contribute to the community cohesion and inclusion in Trafford areas together! :)

Voluntary A Cappella Singer
(Vacancies: 10)

Work location(s):
Indoor for rehearsals & outdoor for performances

Work hours:
Rehearsals:
Usually 1 hour per week (mainly during weekend)
Performances:
1 hour per day, from 2nd June 2022 to 5th June 2022, and on 6th July 2022

2. On 6th July 2022 for UEFA Women's EURO 2022 in Old Trafford Stadium

If your demo video is too large to be attached, please upload it and make it unlisted on your YouTube or vimeo account and send its link to us along with your self-introduction.

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified on 17th March 2022, and interviewed online from 18th to 19th March 2022. Successful candidates will be supposed to start rehearsing on 20th March 2022.

Part-time English Tutor
(Vacancies: 3)

Work-from-home

Work hours:
Usually 1 hour per week (mainly evenings during weekdays)

Hourly rate:
£15 per hour

Duties:
1. Preparing discussion topics for online English conversation groups
2. Hosting and facilitating online English conversation groups
3. Encouraging participants to speak up
4. Encouraging participants to evaluate the effectiveness of online English conversation groups through online questionnaires

Person specifications:
Essential qualification:
1. Attained a Bachelor degree or above
2. Must have right to work in the UK throughout the project period
Essential knowledge and skill(s):
1. Having fluent commands of English
2. Being patient, polite, friendly, sociable and attentive to details
3. Understanding the needs of newcomers from Hong Kong
4. Understanding the social norms and taboos in the UK
5. Willing to help others
6. Willing to work in weekday evenings

Part-time Community Tour Guide
(Vacancies: 3)

Work location(s):
Work-from-home for preparation, and areas across Trafford for guiding community tours

Work hours:
Usually 2 hours per day (mainly daytime), 1 day per week

Hourly rate:
£15 per hour

Duties:
1. Planning routes for community tours with the team
2. Organising and facilitating community tours across Trafford with the team
3. Encouraging participants to make friends with each other
4. Encouraging participants to evaluate the effectiveness of community tours through online questionnaires

Person specifications:
Essential qualification:
1. Attained a Bachelor degree or above
2. Must have right to work in the UK throughout the project period
3. Passing a basic DBS check of which the information must be satisfactory to Trafford Hongkongers CIC for employment to be commenced
Essential knowledge and skill(s):
1. Having fluent commands of English
2. Being patient, polite, friendly, sociable and attentive to details
3. Understanding the needs of newcomers from Hong Kong

(Vacancies: 1)

Project period:
from 21st Mar 2022 to 30th June 2022

Work location(s):
Work-from-home

Work hours:
At most 10 hours throughout the project period

Hourly rate:
£10 per hour

Duties:
1.
Translating materials from English into Hongkongese or from Hongkongese into English, according to instructions provided by Trafford Hongkongers CIC.

Person specifications:
Essential qualification:
1. Full certificate of GCSE A-Level Examination or equivalent (such as HKALE or HKDSE)
2.
Must have right to work in the UK throughout the project period
Essential knowledge and skill(s):
1.
Being able to read and write Hongkongese and English fluently.
2. Being patient, polite,
friendly, sociable and attentive to details
3. Typing speed: at least 40 characters per minute for Hongkongese, and at least 100 characters per minute for English
